Memory foam bedding has been around for a few years now and has gotten a lot of press. Chances are pretty good that you know someone with a memory foam mattress and you've heard what they're like. It was created in 1966 by Charles Yost, who was looking for a way to improve aircraft cushions while working for NASA. He named it "temper" foam because it's temperature sensitive and softens as it becomes warm. It's had numerous uses from the time when NASA made it available to the public in the 1980's, although it was somewhat difficult to manufacture at first. The technique was perfected by Fagerdala World Foams of Sweden who used it to create the successful Tempurpedic mattress. It's grown to be a mainstay of the bedding industry, becoming very popular in a relatively short period of time. If you haven't tried one of these mattresses, you may be curious as to what the big deal is. The main thing that separates memory foam from a traditional innerspring bed is that it molds to the curves of your body and slowly regains its original shape after you move. This more evenly distributes the pressure, rather than concentrating it in a few spots, which makes it much more comfortable. The idea is that you'll sleep better because you won't have to toss and turn as much. Visco elastic foam is pretty expensive because the process used to make it is quite involved. The high price has not diminished its popularity however. People are still lining up at stores to get one, and because of this many companies have started making what can only be described as cheap imitations. They look fine, but in all actuality they aren't made of real memory foam and won't hold together for very long. It's a good idea to buy a memory foam mattress at a place like Costco which has an unlimited return policy with no questions asked. A lot of people get them there simply for the piece of mind that they won't be throwing their money away. Also, a mattress is a very personal item and it's difficult to tell if you're going to like it without actually sleeping on it for a few days. Believe it or not, Novaform mattresses are just about the cheapest memory foam mattresses you can get. If you pay any less than this you're probably not buying the real thing. Basically, they would make a good visco foam mattress for beginners. Anyone that just wants to see what it's like could try one out, and if you like it you can move to a more expensive model. If you decide you can't stand it, then you can just go back to a traditional innerspring mattress. Summing up, you don't need to be hesitant about trying a Novaform mattress. Memory foam is not for everyone, but it has helped many to experience a great night of sleep. The only way to really know if you'll like it is to test one out yourself by sleeping on it for a few nights. One more thing you should think about is that because a Novaform is so cheap, you can expect it won't be quite as durable as the more expensive brands. Few items in your home receive more use than your bed, so if you want something that's going to last a long time you'll have to spend more. In spite of that, it's still a solid product for the money.
