In northern California, some 115 miles to the north of San Francisco, there is an intriguing, coastal town called Monterey. It is a haven for visitors, and as a result, people come from all over the world to savor the beauty, history and charm that abounds there. There are an untold number of Monterey hotels that will meet the need of every visitor's budget.

Different people choose different seasons to visit Monterrey. There are those who are more financially stable and can afford to pay the higher prices during the high season from May to October and on holidays, while others need to economize in every way they can, and prefer to take advantage of the special savings that the hotels offer in the off season.

A wonderful place to stay in the center of wine country is the Acacia Lodge. It is situated in a quiet country atmosphere at the end of a long driveway that conceals it from others. Every morning until 10 a. M. A complimentary breakfast buffet is served.

The rooms are delightfully decorated with French decor, and they offer fabulous views of the surrounding countryside. The amenities will delight any guest. Wireless internet, an iron and ironing board, blow dryer and coffee maker are all in your room just waiting to be used. This is country living at its best.

If you prefer to be closer to downtown Monterrey where the attractions and shops are located, choose the Stagecoach Inn. Besides the normal rooms with different bed sizes, they offer a beautiful King Fireplace Room. This is a larger room that includes a fireplace and king size bed. All of their rooms have a small refrigerator, coffee maker and microwave. Every room has been remodeled and redecorated, and each one has a lovely marble bathroom.

The Cannery Row Inn is the ideal location for those who are tired of driving and enjoy walking. It is situated in the center of the historic district and is only one-half block from the ocean front. You can leave your keys in the hotel room and enjoy the outdoors for the rest of your stay. Each room has its own private balcony with a view of the beach and the walking trails. They offer romantic queen and king rooms with a fireplace included, and if you are traveling with your family, they have a family suite with two king size beds and a queen. Be sure to call and find out about their current specials before you book your room.
